Female Observations

The female spent more time asleep between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm (2), but more time was spent pacing was between 7.30 and 11.00 am (1).
Our female Fossa also spent more time scanning the enclosure during 7.30 am and 11.00 pm (1).
Resting was recorded mostly by her between 2.00 pm and 5.30 pm (3).
Displaying was not observed at all between 2.00 pm and 5.30 pm (3), but
slightly more of this behaviour was observed between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm (2).
Vocalising was seen at its highest level during these times also.
The female spent a lot of her time displaying and vocalising concurrently
(as did the male whilst scanning the enclosure looking for her).

‘Fossa’ spent a little more time scent marking than the male, mostly between 7.30 and 11.00 am (1).
Feeding was only observed by the female between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm (2).
‘Fossa’ was recorded scanning the enclosure mostly between 7.30 am and 11.00 am (1).
Climbing and grooming were observed more from ‘Fossa’ between 7.30 am and 11.00 am (1).
As with the male the most times not seen occurred between 2.00 pm and 5.30 pm (3).

To summarise, the widest variety of behaviours exhibited by both animals were displayed between 7.30 am and 1.30 pm.

The Fossa is an arboreal animal spending most of its time up in the trees, even mating up there, so I decided to look at how much time our pair actually spend up high compared to on the ground.
