Male Observations- Time spent in Branches

Between 7.30 am and 11.00 am (8) ‘Forsell’ spent more time on the ground 73% to be exact, 25% of the time was spent in the branches and 2% of the time he was not seen.
Between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm (9) he was not visible to me for 12% of the time, 59% of the time was spent on the ground, and 29% in the branches.
The later observations between 2.00 pm and 5.30 pm (10) showed ‘Forsell’ spending 71% of the time on the ground, 20% of time was spent up in the branches and 9% of the time he was not seen.

Female Observations - Time spent in Branches

Between 7.30 am and 11.00 am (8) the female was observed up in the branches for 60% of the time, and on the ground for 40% of the time.
Between 11.30 am and 1.30 pm (9) ‘Fossa’ spent 77% of the time on the ground, 18% in the branches and was not seen for 5% of the time.
The female spent less time in the branches between 2.00 pm and 5.30 pm (10), just 10% of the time. For 80% of the time she was observed on the ground and for 10% of the time she was not visible to me.

Reviewing those observations it is clear that both animals spent more time on the ground compared to up in the branches.
The female spent more time in the branches than the male, but he was not seen for a greater period of time.

I also monitored which areas of the enclosure are used the most by each animal.
Charts 5 - 7 refer to the information discussed here. The relevant chart no. is included in brackets after the observations.
Included is a plan of each enclosure and how they are situated in relation to each other.
